Pauldron AR BUFFER ASSEMBLY & CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Installation

Pauldron Buffers are simple replacements for factory buffers.  The spring stacks are pre-assembled, greased and ready for immediate use.  To install, follow your firearm manual’s standard tear down process for stripping and replacing the buffer.

Care and Maintenance

The Pauldron Buffer elements come pre-lubricated.  Additional lubrication may be required after heavy use and is also recommended as part a of firearm’s annual maintenance plan.  We recommend usage one of the following greases depending on your firearm and shooting environment:

First choice: High Pressure Graphite Grease (preferably synthetic) such as:

    • Sta-lube Moly-Graph Grease
    • Bostik Graphite High Temperature Grease

Second choice: High Pressure Lithium Grease such as:

    • Aeroshell 33
    • Mil-Comm MC1210

NOTE: Graphite grease helps with the shock impact of the spring faces hitting each other but is less effective in the cold weather. Lithium grease is better for cold weather but will change the friction coefficient and make the springs stiffer.

WARNING: Any attempt to open or manipulate the springs will void the warranty.

WARNING: Do not alter parts as this may result in the premature wearing of parts or reduce the level of safety, causing the firearm to malfunction. A malfunction can result in an accidental discharge, which could cause serious injury, death or damage to property. If any parts do not function properly, have your firearm examined by a competent gunsmith or returned the manufacturer for service.
